Questions and Answers
What is a Contingency Fee?
When a law firm handles your case on a contingency basis, you do not pay any legal fees unless you recover. The law firm receives a percentage of the money you receive as a fee. No fee is paid as the case is handled and, if you lose your case, there is no legal fee for the attorney. The client may still be liable for expenses which he and the attorney agreed would be paid by the client regardless of the outcome.- Is there a time limit to make a claim for my injuries?
Yes. The time limits to file claims vary and depend on the type of case, the age of the victim, the length of time it takes an injury to manifest itself, the type of company or corporation that has caused the injury, whether you knew or should have known of the claim, etc. Contact us as soon as possible and let us evaluate your claim. - What types of cases does your firm handle?
Personal Injury • Maritime and Offshore • Consumer Class Actions • Price Fixing Antitrust Class Actions • Defective (Faulty) Medical Devices • Environmental and Toxic Torts • Whistle Blower (Qui Tam) • Automobile, 18 Wheeler and Train Accidents • Tobacco • Lawnmower Amputation Accidents - How much does it cost to prosecute a case?
The costs depend on several factors, but with Simien & Simien, LLC you do not pay expenses as the case moves along. We only recover expenses out of the recovery at the conclusion of the case. - I have been in an accident. Is it ok to sign anything or give a statement?
