The team at Simien & Simien is proud to announce the addition of a new lawyer as well as a new office location in Louisiana.
The law firm’s new location is located 424 West Main Street in New Iberia, Louisiana. New attorney Ashley E. Philen will be assisting clients at the New Iberia location.
Ashley became a practicing member of the Louisiana Bar in 2007 after receiving her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge. Ashley was also elected Justice of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International Tureaud Chapter.
Ashley joins the firm with several years of experience. In 2010, she became Of Counsel with Simien & Simien in Lake Charles. She represented landowners in state and federal court in oil, gas and pipeline damage cases.
Ashley has been part of two historic lawsuits including Robinson v. United States, wherein citizens of New Orleans sued the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for damages caused by the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet during Hurricane Katrina. Secondly, she was part of the Southeastern Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East v. Tennessee Gas Pipeline, et al. case. The lawsuit alleged that ninety defendants compromised the veracity of Louisiana’s coastal lands with their wells and pipelines.
Ashley was nominated and named as one of Louisiana’s Top 40 under 40 attorneys by the National Trial Lawyers in 2013.
